to analyze the needs of the organization’s staff. We can
assist in the design of a needs analysis that will identify
which training will have the most impact.
We recommend asking users not just what types of training they
would like, but also how they use their software tools on a
day-to-day basis. While students may not know what to ask for,
if we can understand their daily tasks, we can identify what
training would help them improve productivity.
For example, someone might say that they analyze data for publication,
and not realize the filtering, sorting and pivot tables in Excel
would help them be more effective at this task.
Many organizations have developed competency models for their
employees. If a competency model is available, OFFICEPRO can
map training to the various roles to ensure that employees have
the technical skills to succeed in their jobs.
